Towards the end of July, and throughout August, it can get very hot with temperatures sometimes reaching 40C (100F). Night time temperatures remain around 18C (64F). The climate in Madrid is very low in humidity, therefore making the high temperatures easier to tolerate.
Spring is definitely the best time to visit, especially the months of April and May where average temperatures are around 20 C (68F), in June it gets warmer with temperatures up to 32C (90F). Also September is a pleasant month to visit, with temperatures back down to around 25C (77F). October is also still fairly warm with an average daytime temperature of 20C (68F).
Due to Madrid's high altitude of 650 meters, the winters are cool, with minimum temperatures usually below 0C (32F) and sporadic snowfall.
